Westlake’s athletics team performed very well at the Auckland Secondary Schools Athletics Champs held in mid-March, winning a total of 12 medals, 8 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. The winning athletes are: Anna Steven (Year 12) Gold 100m Para Athletes and Gold 200m Para Athletes; Sofia Lome (Year 10) Gold 100m Intermediate Girls, Gold 200m Intermediate Girls and Bronze Long Jump Intermediate Girls; Kaia Tupu-South (Year 10) Gold Shot Put Intermediate Girls and Gold Discus Intermediate Girls; Danielle Print (Year 12) Gold High Jump Intermediate Girls, Silver 80m Hurdles and Bronze Triple Jump Intermediate Girls; Charlotte Print (Year 10) Gold Triple Jump Junior Girls; and a Silver medal for Sofia Lome, Danielle Print, Devon Thorpe (Year 10) and Kaia Tupu-South in the 4x100m Intermediate Girls relay.
