Nine placings at Future Problem Solving (FPS) Nationals

17 Westlake students were selected to attend the future Problem Solving Nationals held in early November and the students performed very well, winning 9 Top 3 Placings. For the Onsite Scenario Writing Competition Sarah Penny (Year 11) was 1^st and Natalija Hayes (Year 11) was 2^nd . In the Senior Scenario Writing Natalija Hayes was 2^nd and Sarah Penny 3^rd .In the Global Issues Problem Solving (GIPS) Middle Individual grade, Sophie Dykgraaf (Year 10) was 1^st and Kenzie McKay (Year 9) was 3^rd. In the GIPS Senior Individual grade Abbie Clements (Year 11) was 2^nd. In the GIPS Middle Team competition, the Westlake Green team was 3^rd. In the GIPS Senior Team competition, the WGHS Diamond team was 1^st. Sophie Dykgraaf and the Senior Diamond Team have been invited to 2020 FPS International Competition which are going to be held in Amherst, Massachusetts (USA), and it is likely that some of the other Westlake place getters will also be invited to attend.
