Cricket

After an incredibly successful 2022 season which saw the return of the Westlake Girls Premier Cricket to the top grade in Auckland for 2023, the side experienced a challenging year. With the oldest player in the side only in Year 11, it highlighted the need to focus on developing the side for the future.

The Premier cricket schedule is compelling with 8 fixtures packed into a 6-week block in Term 1. However, the team enjoys competitive games against some of the finest young cricketers in the city.

The Venus Cup Qualifier at Keith Hay Park is a highlight of the season. The 3-day tournament consisted of 6 games which the coach incorporated all the teachings of the season into. Two wins across the week resulted in a 9th place finish at the tournament and it helped to establish a strong base for 2024.
