The School Swimming Sports Day is an event for everyone. It is not compulsory to attend but it is a great opportunity to qualify for the regional championship events as well as earn valuable HOUSE points for your house by having fun. CHAMPIONSHIP and HOUSE events are separate competitions but both focused on building school spirit.
Swimming Sports is held at the AUT Millennium Aquatic Centre, 17 Antares Place, Mairangi Bay and begins at 9.15am with sign in and ends at 2pm. Transport is provided for students but if they live closer to the venue than school, then they can make their own way to the pool by 9.30am. If transport is required, it is very important to indicate that below and if a student requires transport, she will need to be outside the Payments Office at school no later than 8.30am to meet the buses, a teacher will be there to direct students. The programme starts at 10am and concludes at 2pm. All students must wear swimming togs, house T-shirts and PE shorts. Students should also bring a towel, warm clothing, lunch, snacks, a water bottle as there will be no food accessible at the venue. Students do not have to wear school uniform nor will they be permitted to leave the venue unless they are granted permission by a teacher.
Students who are strong swimmers and/or are aiming to represent the school and compete at the North Harbour Zone and Auckland Secondary School Swimming Championships are required to enter the Schools Championship Events to qualify for the regional.
Students attending the School Swimming Sports in the non-championship events are required to complete the appropriate registration form (you must take part in at least three House events on the day to participate). These events include fun relays, Manu, and Zumba in the pool, which run throughout the day. You do not need to be a strong swimmer but must be confident in the water and be able to swim and tread water to enter these events. Please make your selections below.
All participants – $10
