The prestigious annual Auckland Netball Combined Points Tournament was held in early August and the Westlake Girls High School teams performed extremely well, winning the overall Points Trophy. Each Westlake team won all of their four pool games and from there, the further through each team progressed in the knock out stage, the higher the number of points they collected.
A large number of schools from across the Auckland area participated but the three Westlake Teams (Premier, Year 10 Team 1 and Year 9 Team 1) aggregated the highest points to end up the overall winners. The Premier team reached the quarter finals stage, Year 10 Team 1 reached the semi-final stage and Year 9 Team 1 reached the final and narrowly lost that game to St Kentigen’s College by 9 – 11.
