Football is a targeted sport at Westlake Girls, with a number of teams competing in the North Harbour and Auckland competitions each year. The four competitive teams in the Premier, Senior A, Junior A and B. Social football is very popular for summer athletes to stay in shape. In preparation for the trials in late February/early March, please register early. The competition for all teams starts at the beginning of Term 2.

2025 CALENDAR

30 April 2025 – Auckland Premier League begins
7 May 2025 – All other grades begin
24 -29 August 2025 – New Zealand Secondary Schools Championship

TRIALS:

Premier/Senior Trial 1 – Tuesday, 25 February – 7am – 8.30pm – WGHS Football Turf
Premier/Senior Trial 2 – Tuesday, 4 March – 7am – 8.30pm – WGHS Football Turf
Junior Trial 1 – Wednesday, 26 February – 7:30am -9.30pm – WGHS Football Turf
Junior Trial 2 – Wednesday, 5 March – 7:30am -9.30pm – WGHS Football Turf

Games are played on Wednesday after school at either 4:00pm or 5:10pm

All Football trials are held at school and overseen by the Premier Coach and Sports Manager for Football, Caleb Ward.
Students should register for Football then they will receive an email with the necessary trial details.
Students with Summer Sport clashes must notify Caleb Ward as soon as possible via email [email protected].

Please arrive 15 mins prior to your trial starting, sign in to ensure your attendance is registered and to warm up.

After the trial, you will be notified about what will happen to your group next.
Once all trials are finalised, the team lists will then be posted on the noticeboard outside the Sports Department at the end of Term 1.

UNIFORM:

Uniforms will be distributed from the Sports Department in the first week of Term 2, and must be returned at the end of the season.

FEES:

1st XI – $250.00
2nd XI – $150.00
Junior A – $175.00
Junior B – $75.00
Social – $75.00

2025 FUTSAL – Football

Students get ready for Futsal! Whether you’re new to the game or have some experience, this is perfect for players of all skill levels. We’ll be entering a North Harbour competition that caters to all abilities, with games every Friday between 4pm and 8pm at AUT North Shore.

Futsal is a fast-paced, exciting version of football that helps sharpen your skills and fitness. Plus, it’s a great way to play alongside your friends and represent Westlake.
