Football

Football is one of the larger sports at Westlake Girls with 8 teams competing in the North Harbour and Auckland competitions last year. There are 4 competitive teams, 2 x Senior & 2 x Junior in 2024, as well as 4 Social teams across both junior & senior. In preparation for the trials in late February/early March, please register early. The competition for all teams starts at the beginning of Term 2.

TRIALS:

Monday 26 February – Premier Trial 1 – 3.30pm – 5.30pm
Tuesday 27 February – Junior (Y9/10) Trial 1 – 7:00-8:30am
Wednesday 28 February – Junior (Y9/10) Trial 2 – 7:30-9:00am
Wednesday 28 February – Premier Trial 2 – 3:30-5:30pm

All Football trials are held at school and overseen by the Sports Manager for Football, Will Lacey, alongside the Premier Coach & 1 other coach. Students should register for Football on the link below, then they will receive an email with the necessary trial details, and which they should attend. Students with Summer Sport clashes must notify Will Lacey as soon as possible via email [email protected]

Please arrive 15 mins prior to your trial starting, sign in to ensure your attendance is registered and to warm up. After the trial, you will be notified about what will happen to your group next. Once all trials are finalised the team lists will then be posted on the noticeboard outside the Sports Department at the end of Term 1.

UNIFORM:

Uniforms will be distributed from the Sports Department in the first week of Term 2, and must be returned at the end of the season.

Various Important Info

Y9 and 10 Students finish early this Thursday.

On the afternoon of Thursday, 21 November, there will be a PPTA Paid Union Meeting for teachers. As a result, Year 9 and 10 students will finish at 12:30 pm, and no classes will run for them in the afternoon.

Students in Years 11, 12, and 13 sitting NCEA exams will not be affected. Exams will continue as scheduled.

If you wish your child to be supervised at school on that afternoon, please contact the school so that arrangements can be made.

Library : Open from 8:00-5:00. All students on study leave can study in the library including. Y9s. The library is a silent study zone from Tuesday, 5 Nov to Thursday, 29 Nov.
