Hockey is a strong sport at Westlake Girls, and as one of the targeted codes, Westlake Girls works hard to feature highly on the regional and national platforms. In 2023 the team won the Auckland Secondary Schools Champion and then bronze at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Federation Cup Championship.

There are currently five teams competing in the North Harbour and Auckland competitions. All the teams are competitive, with three senior teams and two junior sides. This year we welcome new Premier coach Geoff McNaughton, who steps up from the 2nd XI to take the helm of the top team.

2025 TRIALS

17-19 February – Premier 1, Premier 2, Junior 1 from 3.30pm – 5.30pm REGISTRATIONS CLOSE THURSDAY 13 FEBRUARY 2025

5 – 7 March – Premier 3 and Junior 2&3 from 3.30pm – 5.30pm REGISTRATIONS CLOSE THURSDAY, 27 FEBRUARY 2025

All Hockey trials are held at school and overseen by the Sport Manager for Hockey Ian Bright, alongside the Premier Coach and other team coaches. Students must register for Hockey on the link below before 13 February. They will then receive an email with the necessary trial details, and which they should attend. Students with Summer Sport clashes must notify Ian Bright as soon as possible via email [email protected]

Please arrive 15 minutes before your trial starts, sign in to ensure your attendance is registered and warm up. After the trial, you will be notified about what will happen to your group next. Once all trials are finalised, the team lists will be posted on the noticeboard outside the Sports Department at the end of Term 1.

FEES:

1st XI – $450.00
2nd XI – $300.00
3rd XI – $225.00
Junior A – $300.00
Junior B – $225.00

Dresses and socks can be purchased from the Sports Department in late Term 1 after payments are made at Accounts:
Dress – $85
Socks – $15
