The school’s Rock-Climbing team is small but mighty. Last season, three students competed in the new Auckland College Climbing series which runs across the year, Year 10 student, Amaya Tan-Peters, went on to represent the school at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Climbing Cup in Mount Maunganui and placed 3rd in both the Junior Female Combined (Boulder/Top-Rope) event and the Junior Female Speed Climbing event. The Auckland College Climbing Series takes place over 4 dates at Northern Rocks, Vertical Adventures, and Boulder Co climbing gyms. After strong performances in several rounds, Year 10 standout performer, Amaya Tan-Peters, tied for first place overall in the Junior category.
