Westlake Girls Snowboarding team is rebuilding after losing most of its champion team last year. However, Meadow Mauger, the remaining member, continued to perform strongly at the Auckland Secondary School Champs, winning silver this year. New Zealand Under 16 Alpine Skier Georgia Marshall joins the team. Georgia proudly represented the school in the Giant Slalom. This year, skiers and snowboarders can compete in the June Auckland Championship and the September North Island Secondary Schools Championships.

2025 SNOWPLANET COURSES:

Courses at Snowplanet begin for the competitive skiers and snowboarders at the start of Term 2. Students are welcome to join the 10-week classes, which will lead them neatly into the Auckland Secondary Schools Champs in June. Further classes are an option in Term 3. These help students prepare for the North Island Secondary School Championship in September. The time and dates of classes vary, but we will send information to those who register below before the end of Term 1.

Thursday, 26 June – Auckland Secondary Schools Snowboarding Championship – Snowplanet

Saturday, 23 August – New Zealand Indoor Snowsports Championships – Snowplanet

15 – 17 Sept – North Island Secondary Schools Ski Championship – Turoa.

FEES:

Auckland Championships – $80 per event

New Zealand Indoor Champs – tbc

North Island Championships – tbc
