Volleyball is the second-largest sport at Westlake Girls. Its popularity stems from the ease in which young students can learn the game and then develop confidently and quickly with it. It is also an excellent summer sport for those who just want to have fun with their friends.

The Senior Volleyball season takes place in Term 1, and the Juniors – Years 9 and 10 – play in Term 4. There are two competitive leagues for students in both seasons; the Competitive Leagues (Super League and Auckland Premier League) and the more casual Harbour Competition, which is fun and ideal for non-competitive students who are also interested in staying active.

SENIOR SOCIAL TEAM MUSTER for non-competitive teams occurs in the first week of February. The Juniors trials begin at the start of Term 3 with the competitive Junior leagues beginning in mid-September. The Junior Muster for social teams is at the end of Term 3.

Monday, 24 – 28 March – New Zealand Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship – Palmerston North

Senior A Team – $ 100.00
All social teams – Term 1 +$ 50.00

Junior A – $ 100.00

JUST PLAY – LEARN TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL

Few students have played volleyball before they arrive at Westlake, but it is an enjoyable game to learn quickly. Just Play Volleyball offers 4 weeks of fundamental skills coached by the Premier students in June 2025 – Go to ‘All Year Sports’ to find Just Play, and you will be advised of the dates.
